Wire Sculptures - Birds on a Wire
Create beautiful wire sculptures.
Service Description
Fine, flexible wire is a wonderful material to work with, allowing you to craft characterful objects with a delicate, drawn-like quality. We will create three beautiful outcomes exploring joining techniques, wrapping, shaping and sculpting wire. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with a range of artistic experiences. Your tutor, Liz Wellby, is a skilled artist, teacher, and maker with a passion for sculpture and printmaking. After earning a Fine Arts degree from Loughborough University and completing postgraduate studies, Liz settled near the Peak District in Derbyshire, where she has lived and worked for over 30 years with her husband and their cat, Bert. The workshop will take place in our beautiful thatched Long Barn at Meon Springs - an inspiring venue nestled on a working farm in the South Downs National Park. The workshop will run from 10 - 4 pm, with places limited to 12, including tuition, materials and use of equipment, with refreshments served throughout the day: just bring your lunch.
