Lino cutting and printing is a very enjoyable process that can be explored at our kitchen tables and requires a minimum of specialist equipment.
Working from your chosen images, this one day workshop will introduce you to jigsaw lino cutting and printing. A particular focus will be how to select an appropriate composition, allowing the lino block to be cut into separate pieces that can be inked individually, before being placed together and printed.
We will cover developing ideas into designs, safe cutting techniques, alongside hand printing. Single colour prints can also be developed by printing onto coloured backgrounds and exploring collage techniques.
This workshop will suit makers with previous experience of lino cutting and printing - preferably you will have created several single or multi coloured prints. It’s important that you are confident with cutting and printing skills, so that you can focus on creating a suitable composition.
The workshop will be held in our C18th Long Barn on our working farm in The Meon Valley. It is an inspirational building in the beautiful South Downs.
Liz Wellby will be your tutor for the days workshop; she us from her home and studio in Derbyshire.
