For those of you who regularly join us for Art in the Barn, you’ll have seen our decorative wire pieces be they wire dogs, free standing birds, or birds in cages and a number of you will have created your own beautiful outcomes. However, for the uninitiated amongst you, fine and flexible wire is a lovely material to work with, enabling you to create characterful objects, with a drawn-like quality to them, all without causing harm to your hands.
Come along on Monday 18th March and learn how to create a range of beautiful, decorative pieces of sculpture, inspired by all things relating to tea and coffee drinking. We’ll explore joining techniques, wrapping, shaping and sculpting wire and your pieces will surely take pride of place in your home and be admired by many.
This workshop will suit folks with experience of different creative processes and techniques.
We will be joined by artist and maker Liz Wellby, who lives and works on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. With over 30 years experience teaching and tutoring, Liz will guide and support you throughout the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for a range of abilities and creative experiences. Places are limited to 12.
The workshop will include materials and use of equipment, refreshments served throughout the day; runs from 10 - 4pm and costs £99.
