Explore 2 or 3 Colour Lino Cutting & Printing
Lino cutting and printing is a very enjoyable process that can be explored at our kitchen tables and you may well remember creating your first linocut during Art lessons at secondary school.
If you have already created several one colour lino cuts and are confident with the processes involved, you may feel ready to take the next step and learn how to create a 2 or 3 colour print.
Working from your chosen images and sketches, we will cover developing ideas into designs and re cap safe cutting techniques, alongside hand printing.
You will work on lino 150 x 200mm, so please bring along several scale designs to choose from, which will speed up the initial stages and allow you to develop a multi coloured lino print.
However, if you are new to the process or would describe yourself as a rusty printmaker, you can focus on learning how to create a one colour print.
About the Tutor
Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post-graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 30 years she has lived and worked. Liz now lives and works on the edge of the Peak District, kept company by her husband and cat called Bert.
The workshop will include all materials and use of equipment, with refreshments served throughout the day; runs from 10 - 4pm and costs £95 - just bring your lunch.
