Spending time on a creative task is both a pleasure and a joy. It allows us to stop and take time out of our busy lives. It calms and relaxes us and provides opportunities to refocus; creativity engages our imagination and stimulates us.
However, not everyone knows how to get a creative task underway and it can be difficult not knowing where to start or even what to create.
On this Workshop, we will explain and demonstrate how to make lively marks on different papers, draw from observation and imagination and learn how to select and simplify images and designs.
We will work with a variety of different papers and old books and combine these with printing techniques to create a variety of patterned and textured papers to use in this task. You will also draw with scissors, exploring composition, layering the different papers and images together, to create wonderful still life collages.
Our inspiration will be flowers, plants, fruit and foliage displayed in a range of pots, vases and jugs in a light and playful way.
The workshop will include all materials and use of equipment, with refreshments served throughout the day; runs from 10 - 4pm - just bring your lunch.
