Kitchenalia - exploring line and wire.

This one day workshop is suitable for both beginners and those who have experience with a range of creative processes and techniques.

​If you are a keen cook, you are sure to have a fine collection of kitchenalia in your home, with pots and drawers rammed full of whisks, fish slices and ladles. We value them for their practical use to help us create our favourite dishes, but we should also look at the satisfying range of shapes and forms in their design. Who can resist a set of 1960's utensils with their lovely painted handles?

On this workshop you can explore the shapes and patterns found in kitchenalia.

With a particular focus on exploring line and colour we will experiment with a number of materials and processes to create lively and imaginative drawings, before we try our hand at developing images using a fine and flexible wire. Who wouldn't want to create a wire fish or a decorative wire utensil ?

​This one day workshop is suitable for both beginners and those who have experience with a range of creative processes and techniques.

We will be joined by artist and maker Liz Wellby, who lives and works on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. With over 25 years experience teaching and tutoring, Liz will guide you and support you throughout the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for a range of abilities and creative experiences. Places are limited to just 10.
 
Please bring along: an apron, old drawings/watercolours etc to upcycle - optional, an old magazine to transport wet work home and your lunch
 
The workshop will include materials and use of equipment, refreshments served throughout the day; runs from 10 -  4pm.
