Still Life through a Window
Join us in the heart of the Meon Valley in Hampshire, for a colour filled workshop, inspired by the beautiful still life paintings of Mary Fedden and Winifred Nicholson.
Arrange a mixed bunch of flowers in a favourite vase or jug, add a favourite ornament or two and you have a beautiful still life. Both Fedden and Nicholson included a window setting, with curtains and views to the sea or the hills. They show the personality of the painters and their domestic settings.
The workshop will be delivered by Alison Butler of Blooming Designs. With over 30 years of experience as a textile designer and book illustrator, Alison will guide you through a range of exciting drawing and painting processes.
This workshop is suitable for those with a range of creative experiences, looking to explore their drawing and painting skills.
We will hold the workshop in our beautiful thatched Long Barn at Meon Springs. It is an inspiring venue set on a working farm in the South Downs National Park.
Please bring along: an apron, a newspaper and an A3 folder to transport your work home, plus you may wish to bring along your favourite crayons/oil pastels.
The workshop will include tuition, materials and use of equipment, refreshments served throughout the day; runs from 10 - 4pm and costs £99, just bring your lunch.
