WORKSHOP 2 - Little Corkers
Friday 22nd March 2019 - morning
Creating small wire Sculptures
Join us in our thatched Long Barn in the heart of the Meon Valley, on the morning of Friday 22nd March 2019 to create beautiful wire birds.
Inspiration can be found from a short walk along the banks of the River Meon that runs close to the Long Barn, where geese, water fowl and swans swim. Or you may decide to bring along particular images of garden or domestic birds that you wish to model.
This half day workshop will be run by artist and maker Liz Wellby, who will guide you through a number of stages, enabling you to create your own
small wire sculptures.
Your initial ideas will be sketched and explored through collage and using fine, flexible wire. Heat treated wire is an expressive material and surprisingly easy to handle, cut and manipulate with basic hand tools, it’s like drawing in the air.
Please bring along your wellies and A6 images, drawings or photos of birds in profile. This workshop is suitable for beginners and is designed for a maximum of 12 people. All equipment and materials will be provided.
It will run from 10am to 2pm include refreshments and a delicious homemade lunch which will be served in the barn. Cost £55.
