WORKSHOP 4 - Inspiration from the Garden, using mixed media
Saturday 23rd March 2019 - Full Day
A mixed media approach to Still life
Spring can be an inspirational time for those with a love of gardens, beautiful colours, shapes and forms which herald a change in the seasons. Join us in our thatched Long Barn in the heart of the Meon Valley, on Saturday 23rd March to explore floral images through a mixed media approach.
The workshop will be delivered by Alison Butler of Blooming Designs. With over 25 years experience as a textile designer and book illustrator, Alison will guide you through a range of exciting mixed media approaches, including drawing and painting, where there will be few, if any, rules.
Our inspiration will be taken from seasonal cuttings taken from the adjacent farm garden or alternatively you may wish to develop designs of your own choosing by bringing along images of flowers and foliage. We will also reference the work of Debbie George, Vanessa Bowman, Mary Sumner and Sally Anne Fitter.
This workshop is suitable for those with a range of creative experiences, for a maximum of 12 people.
Please bring along: an apron, optional - A4 floral ideas/drawings/images that inspire you, a newspaper and an A3 folder to transport your work home, a large pale plate or flat palette and a pencil case.
The workshop will include all materials and equipment, refreshments and a delicious homemade lunch that will be served in the barn; to be held on Saturday 23rd March, from 10 - 4pm and costs £95.
